I believe that even though I took detours along the path, God created me to make a difference in other’s lives. I have a deep passion for ministering to hurting people. I am a wounded healer and a deeply committed servant who desires to apply my God-given abilities to the task of helping others move to personal wholeness. I have dedicated the rest of my life to help others find the peace I have found.

Good morning, and welcome to my web site. My name is Linda Barnes, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), licensed by the State of Texas and certified by the National Board of Certified Counselors (NCC). As a professional Christian Counselor, I provide Biblically based counseling services to the Southlake, Keller, Grapevine, Westlake, Trophy Club, Roanoke and DFW Metroplex in my Southlake office.

I pattern my counseling ministry after these principles set forth by Hindson & Eyrich in their book entitled Totally Sufficient: The Bible and Christian Counseling, 1997, Harvest House, Eugene, OR.

destination hope Pillars of Christian Counseling:

  • The divine inspiration of the Bible
  • The existence of an infinite, personal God
  • The uniqueness of Jesus Christ
  • Salvation by grace alone
  • The substitutionary atonement of Christ
  • Personal spiritual regeneration, being born again in newness of life by the Holy Spirit
  • Personal spiritual sanctification, the lifelong process of progressive maturity

As testament to God’s direction in my counseling practice, I follow the “Distinctives in Christian Counseling” as outlined by Clinton & Ohlschlager in their book entitled Competent Christian Counseling, 2002, WaterBrook Press, Colorado Springs, CO.

  • Goals: Maturity in Christ versus happiness and self-fulfillment
  • Ground: God revealed in Scripture versus human wisdom and imagination
  • Process: Transformation versus adjustment
